An announcement concerning blogs
As you will have seen, we are trying to focus our attention as a community on the "From the ground up" reflections. While this is happening we ask you not to start any blogs, or comment on any existing blogs, with comments, observations, or musings about St Pixels or how it is run, or how it might be run. We also ask that you not blog anything theological or philosophical. We would value your contribution to the discussions in Reflect, so that we can get as wide a range of ideas as possible.Please would you keep the blogs area for blogs of a personal nature only, and limit your comments on blogs to those personal issues.Thank you for your co-operation.
From the ground up
The St Pixels community has functioned in pretty much the same way for a number of years now, despite various administrative changes behind the scenes, and there appears to be a consensus that it's time for a change. But what sort of change?The Community Leadership Team has decided that this question is important enough to make the central activity for the next few weeks. So, with immediate effect, we are starting a series of one-week consultations in the Reflect area. Please join in - we value your views.To reduce the distractions, we will be closing all other discussions in Discuss and Reflect. We are also restricting the scope of the Blog area - see separate announcement.Thank-you for bearing with us, for your support and participation in the past and present, and thank-you in advance for helping us towards the next step in the life of the St Pixels community!

Stations of the cross 2010
 The St Pixels community is embarking on a community project in the run up to Easter. Inspired by a visit to Portugal where he saw artistic depictions of the stations of the cross created by church members, Steven has suggested that we should do something similar.
Starting on Passion Sunday we will open a thread each day until Easter Sunday showing the items that have been created for each day's theme.You are invited to create something on one of the suggested themes here - a painting, a plasticine model, or use some other medium. If you would like to volunteer to create something for one of the slots please volunteer in this thread!
To Blog or Not to Blog
Blogs was a rather bold move when St.Pixels was launched, and it has proven to be very popular. However, some users have begun using their blog space to open discussions on controversial issues facing the church or society in general. This has created a bit of confusion throughout the site, as people wanting to follow the debate simply do not remember where it was: Discuss or Blogs? Since we do have an area called Discuss, those types of entries really belong there. Blog space is still personal space; a place to share, with a space for other members to comment, tell their own experience, offer support, or whatever. What it is not intended to be is a place for the blogger to post opinions on controversial subjects because the blogger expects not to be challenged on a personal blog. We are officially discouraging that sort of blog. When blogs introduce subjects, which are really more suited for Discuss, those topics will be referred to the Discuss team who will consider opening a new thread welcoming comments on the subject. We believe this is a sensible approach which will make the whole place run a bit smoother and will place topics for discussion and debate all in the same place. Thanks to all bloggers for the wonderful reading you have given us and thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Sunday morning "Snow" service
 Many people in the UK have been affected by the current snowy conditions. And some of us will think twice about venturing out into the snow and ice to go to a local church this Sunday!
In view of this we have decided to add a Sunday morning service at 11am GMT in our LIVE church chatroom with a snowy theme. We have avoided a UK daytime service in the past because so many of our community are involved with churches locally, but with many of us "snowed in" we decided to offer an extra opportunity to worship together in addition to our normal daily 9pm GMT slot.There will also be several regional BBC radio programmes that will be broadcasting interviews on the subject of "online church in the snow" this Sunday morning. Mark is scheduled to be interviewed on BBC Leeds at 7.50am GMT, BBC Derby at 8.25am GMT, and BBC York at 8.30am GMT.[ Update: This morning's sermon is here ]
