this is a challenging one for me, thanks daff

Posted by Vee 13 Jul 2010 at 18:32

Oh please do, I am so in need of wisdom.

Posted by Mymoss 14 Jul 2010 at 15:26

The context of this verse is the persecution to come prior to the tribulation, when Christians will be betrayed by family and friends, and arrested and tried in courts for their faith. They are not to worry about what to say. Some will be put to death, but not a hair of their heads shall perish (they will be given eternal life).

If we are confronted with a comparable situation it is comforting to know that God will give us wisdom in what to say.

“Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, Luke 21:34

Posted by dolphy 15 Jul 2010 at 13:26

Thank you Daff, that speaks volumes to me today; not the carousing and drunkenness but 'the worries of this life'.

My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me. Psalm 144:2 NKJV

Posted by Daffodil 16 Jul 2010 at 08:58

I love this song, which is based partly on Psalm 144:2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjBBzQBK7po

Posted by Vee 16 Jul 2010 at 10:12

Makes me think of the ultimate romantic hero: the knight in shining armour who rescues and protects the fair maiden. Or at least, it does until I get to the subdue bit. In many ways He is my knight, rescuing and protecting me in my times of distress, although it's a bit of stretch to cast myself as fair maiden.

Posted by dolphy 16 Jul 2010 at 20:25

Thank you for sharing your words and the song, Daff.

I have not been able to listen to that song in a long time but, I managed to get through it this evening for the first time without tears.

It has always made me think of Daddy dolphy.
